Lions Home for Elderly - October 6 2012 back
On October 6th, 2012 “Classic Mrs Singapore 2012” Yang Lay went to the Lion’s Home For The Elders to spend time with the residents.
In 1980, the Lion’s Clubs in Singapore first started a community home for the aged and elderly destitutes at a Housing and Development Board void deck. It then started a nursing home at Toa Payoh Rise, followed by another at Bedok South Avenue 2. These homes provide 24-hour nursing and medical care, management and care of dementia, rehabilitation services and many more for residents.
Yang Lay sang songs for the residents and had a meal together. She also brought along her young son to interact with them. The residents had a delightful afternoon, while mother and son had a meaningful visit.
