Chinese New Year Dinner 2010 - February 18 2010 back

February 18th, 2010: Early this year, Chinese all over the world celebrated Lunar New Year in their homes, away from their jobs, channeling income into red packets and arranging themselves around tables of traditional cuisine – all the more heartbreaking then, that several Chinese foreign workers in Singapore lacked homes, wages and food on the days that precede the celebrations.

Yang Lay, founder of Beneath the Stars learned of this issue when it was made public by a Chinese Newspaper, and became an active contributor of a dinner event that gathered over 30 foreign workers for some merry-making.

Beneath The Stars collaborated with Ken, Miss Lee and The Humanitarian Home for Foreign Workers, and conducted an evening that was a meaningful success.
